This tip explains how to install and run SecureCRT® for Windows® from a USB flash memory-based drive, providing highly portable security for the roving network professional.

Note: This tip is for use with SecureCRT for Windows.

Running SecureCRT for Windows from a USB Flash Memory Drive

USB flash memory drives are very handy portable storage media. Also known as flash drives and pen drives, these devices plug into any computer's USB port and are small enough to fit on a keychain or in a pocket.

To run SecureCRT from a USB drive, you create an installation for SecureCRT manually. This involves copying SecureCRT to the USB drive and creating a license key file for your registration information, with a few other minor modifications. The following instructions are generally applicable to removable USB drives. You may need to make some changes to suit your particular needs and hardware.

1. Copy the SecureCRT installation folder to the USB drive (C:\Program Files\VanDyke Software\Clients\SecureCRT by default). The top-level directory of my USB drive looks like this:

2. Copy your Config folder into the USB drive's SecureCRT folder. The location of the Configuration folder can be found in the Global Options dialog in the General/Configuration Paths category.

   The USB drive directory structure should now show a \SecureCRT\Config folder.
   

3. In Notepad or another text editor, create a text file named "SecureCRT.lic" containing your license information, and place that file in the newly-created SecureCRT folder as well. The format of the SecureCRT.lic file is as follows:

Name=<name from registration letter>
Company=<company name from registration letter>
Serial Number=03-xx-xxxxxx
Key=nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn nnnnnn
Issue Date=nn-nn-nnnn

The Features line should only be included in the SecureCRT.lic file if it is in the registration letter.

4. Finally, if you use public-key authentication with any of your sessions, you can place your public and private keys on the USB drive as well. If you only use password or keyboard interactive authentication, this step is unnecessary.

   After the USB drive is set up as described above, you can run SecureCRT by launching SecureCRT.exe from the SecureCRT folder on the USB drive.

Choose from a wide range of emulations including VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Wyse 50/60, Xterm, and Linux console. SecureCRT can help you save valuable time by automating routine configuration tasks with powerful scripting capabilities.

SecureCRT 6.1 extends your ability to customize your workflow and automate routine tasks with new session management and scripting capabilities. You can search from the Connect dialog, disconnect and reconnect all tabbed sessions, and launch a remote command or application when you connect to a session. Scripting enhancements include support for accessing session options, accessing the clipboard, and sending special keys. Additional logon options allow you to save usernames and passwords with keyboard-interactive authentication and enter Secure Shell logon credentials in The Terminal window making it easier to script logons.

파일을 다운로드 받으시면 Crack 폴더와, setup 파일, key 파일이 있습니다.

우선 setup을 눌러 설치하시면 됩니다.

설치방법은 간단합니다. 아래 그림을 보시면서 Next만 열심히 눌러주시면 됩니다.

설치가 완료되면 Crack 의 파일 2개를 설치폴더에 덮어 써줍니다.

그 다음 secureCRT를 실행하면 다음과 같이 lisence data를 등록하는 창이 나타납니다.

처음 보이는 창에서 다음을 누르면 Enter License Manually 를 통하여 직접 license 키를 입력할 수 있습니다.

Key 파일을 참고하여서 내용을 입력하여 주시면 자유롭게 secureCRT를 이용할 수 있습니다.
